A Little about Hidden Island Resort
Welcome to Hidden Island! We are Doug and Marilyn. We had a
great summer in 2008 and are looking forward to 2009.
The fishing was amazing.
Many fish caught right off the island.
If I can't find Doug in the morning I can be pretty
certain that he is on the dock with a cup of coffee and a Muskie
rod.
We had several
Muskie over 40" caught off the island.
The deck in front of sunrise cabin was a favorite place
to relax and catch walleye, small mouth bass and northern.
We caught great fish from the dock and out on the lake all
summer. The
Fall walleye and crappie fishing was excellent, catching crappie
from 12” to 14.5”, with a few 21” walleye thrown in for good
measure.
The 10-mile boat ride out to Hidden Island
is where your experience begins. Winding through the islands of
rock & trees, watching the wildlife, is a great way to start
shedding the stress of all you leave behind for a few days with
us. We made several changes on Hidden Island this past summer.
Our first project was a new steel roof on the lodge.
Next we gutted the kitchen and replaced everything, we
also leveled the kitchen and the dinning room.
We replace the carpet with linoleum in the front section
of the lodge. We
put on about 35 gallons of paint and lots of cleaning.
We had a great time.
Hidden Island is nestled under the
southwest tip of Miles Island and extremely well sheltered from
all directions.
Our lodge is a log structure built in the
1940’s and is loaded with character. One can only imagine the
sharing (meals and stories) that has occurred within those log
walls. The rustic guest accommodations are a combination of log
and rough lumber construction and offer clean and comfortable
sleeping quarters with modern 3-piece bathrooms in all.
